This kiddo-friendly adventure will take you to some of our favorite spots in town!
1.) Start your Cle Elum journey at the Cle Elum Visitors Center, located at
312 West 1st Ave. In this charming facility you will find guides, maps and advice from friendly staff members. Pick up a
2016 Cle Elum Town Guide, hot off the press!
2.) Order a delicious made-from-scratch turnover at the
Cle Elum Bakery. Varieties such as apple, cherry and apricot are local favorites.
3.) Stop for lunch at
Beau's Pizza and Pasta to see if you can find at least three objects hidden in the concrete floors. Small remnants of the original bar have found their way under your feet and tell many prohibition-era stories.
4.) Wind through the aisles of
Tuckaway Antiques in search of the perfect souvenir. Try and spot a local Cle Elum mug, t-shirt or postcard hidden between the dusty antiques.
5.) Photograph a deer along the banks of the
Yakima River, off of Highway 10. If you can't spot our stealthy animal friend, the expansive river and mountain views will make up for it!
6.) Get up close to a
Milwaukee Railroad boxcar in South Cle Elum. The interpretive trail lets visitors experience the history of the railroad industry in the Cascade Mountains, and the depot now houses a "finger-licking good" barbecue restaurant. Weary travelers and locomotive enthusiasts alike find respite here.
7.) Pick out a particularly knotty piece of driftwood along the shores of
Lake Cle Elum, or scan the beach for polished stones.
We're sure that you will find additional hidden gems while you are here. Be sure to share your finds with us on
